The Bird Of Hope 024

Oils & Gold Leaves On Canvas

This painting is inspired by the swift —
the small, powerful bird so often seen above the Western Wall,
known for its breathtaking aerial precision
and its ability to dive at full speed into the narrow crevices of the ancient stones.

The work was born from a personal moment of prayer.
Standing at the Kotel, the artist found himself searching for strength —
looking outward, hoping for a sign that would allow him to return fully
to the inner work of prayer.

In that moment, the swift appeared.

With impossible confidence, it cut through the air,
transitioning from wild, rapid flight
into a perfect, effortless landing within the stone itself.
Again and again, without hesitation.
Without fear.

That sight became a revelation:
that with faith and prayer, even what seems unreachable
can suddenly become possible.
That precision, trust, and surrender
can guide one safely through the narrowest openings.

The bird is therefore not merely a bird —
it becomes a symbol of hope.
Of divine assistance.
Of the soul finding its place, even at great speed,
even under pressure.

The abstract, ascending composition emphasizes movement and uplift,
while the soft presence of gold leaf hints at holiness woven into the moment —
a quiet reminder that hope is never separate from the sacred.

This is the Bird of Hope —
born at the Western Wall,
and carried upward on faith.
